Inneract Project Committee Application
Inneract Project is currently looking for passionate individuals who share the IP vision. Below are Committee positions available:
IP Volunteer : SPONSORSHIP COMMITTEE
Inneract Project is looking for 2-3 volunteers to serve on a sponsorship committee for our Learning Lab and video series, “Designed”.
What is a Learning Lab?
Learning Labs are one-day educational events that feature short lectures by design professionals, design-centric workshops, and tours of design studios and museums. They cater to everyone – from students to their parents to the broader community – and aim to serve as an interactive and engaging way to explore many facets of the design industry.
How do Learning Labs impact students?
Learning Labs are designed to reach inner-city kids and expose them to careers in design. Design is not taught in K-12 education. Therefore, many kids don’t know it exist except for their unknowing interaction with it everyday. Learning Labs reach inner-city kids with creative interest and expose them to design and the designers developing the things they interact with on a daily basis. We hope students can inspired by our events and hopefully change their outlook on life. Sponsorships help us pay for education events, build partnerships and most importantly connect design to SF Bay Area youth and their communities.
What is “Designed”?
IP is producing a series of short videos documenting an ongoing conversation with designers, celebrities and everyday people about the importance of design and how much we rely on design in our everyday lives. The videos aim to spark interest, spur conversation, and raise awareness of the field of design.
The sponsorship committee will be responsible for fulfilling the following tasks:
- develop a plan to reach potential sponsors
- identify financial need for each event
- research the right companies to contact
- help Inneract Project build/maintain meaningful relationships with sponsors
IP Volunteer: EVENTS/FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE
Inneract Project is looking for 3-4 volunteers to serve on a fundraiser event committee for our annual fundraiser in August.
What is Inneract Project?
Inneract Project (IP) is a professionally-supported program that provides free design classes and initiatives to inner-city youth, in order to introduce them to the field of design and channel their creativity into viable career paths. Our program includes 1) a Youth Design Academy, which is one 8-week class session per year that provides students with hands-on design exercises 2) Learning Labs, which are one-day interactive design education events throughout the year, and 3) Designed., an ongoing video series documenting designers, celebrities and everyday people’s stories about design.
How does our fundraiser impact students?
All proceeds from our fundraiser goes towards covering our cost for providing free design classes to inner-city youth and creating opportunities for them to be exposed to design. IP’s annual fundraiser further connects the values of program with supporters and present ways to garner new supporters. As a result, students have more opportunities to be exposed and learn about design, and potentially become designers.
The fundraiser event committee will work with us to:
- develop/execute fundraiser plan
- coordinate with vendors
- make with phone calls
- assist with errands
- help at the event
